Now, we start our demonstration of an A-level Karuta match on the stage in the university's auditorium.
Ms. Miki and I were the competitors.
Ms. Stone recited the poems and explained the rules of the game to spectators as the match proceede.
We played on tatami mats that were donated by our friends in Japan.
Everyone was impressed by our quick motions and concentration.
One of the spectators later described us as "tigers doing yoga."
We finished the game to big applause. There were about 50 spectators.
We were deeply impressed, and humbled, by the resounding success.
The Ogura Hyakunin-isshu demonstration is only the beginning of spreading knowledge of Karuta all over the world.
We appreciate very much all the kindness we received during our exhibition in London.
